We offer certified and notarized document translation services for Immigration (USCIS), courts, foreign governments and educational Institutions.

As the Homeland Security agency becomes more involved in approving the submission of your documents for immigration and other government agencies, accuracy, dependability and pricing are important issues for you to consider when purchasing certified translation for your official documents.

Certified Translation for United States Immigration & Universities A certified English translation for the US immigration services (USCIS) must be prepared in accordance with the United States regulation, and by a professional translator or translation company. Other organizations, such as WES and various universities and medical schools sometimes have additional requirements, but basically a certified translation is made up of four parts which must be in place in order to be considered a valid certified translation.

1. The certified English translation must accompany an official company letterhead showing the name and address of the translator/translation company.
2. The complete word for word translation of the original text formatted as closely as possible to the original text.
3. A statement signed by the translator or translation company representative attesting that the translator or translation company representative believes the translated text to be an accurate and complete translation of the source document. Sometimes this statement bears the title “Certificate of Accuracy.”
4. All pages of the translation are stamped and signed, along with the translator’s signature being notarized.

Notarization isn’t required for the USCIS, but more and more of our clients are requesting this service so we’ve made it standard procedure with our certified translations.

What is an Apostille?

An Apostille is an international certification comparable to a notarization and is often added to documents that have been in some manner signed by a Notary, lawyer or other public official such as the clerk of a court of record in their official capacity. The Apostille ensures that public documents issued in one signatory country will be recognized as valid in another signatory country.

The sole function of the Apostille is to certify the authenticity of the signature on the document; the capacity in which the person signing the document acted; and the identity of any stamp or seal affixed to the document.

An Apostille issued by the Secretary of State is a one page document embossed with the Great Seal of a State. The Apostille includes the facsimile signature of the individual issuing the certificate.

When do you need an Apostille?

You may need an Apostille if you are making an application to an official agency in another country to get married, request citizenship or permit, new birth certificate or passport, obtain a divorce decree, and other similar documents.

You do not need an Apostille if you need translation for immigration, U.S. Passport Agency, Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV), or any other agencies and organizations if you are already in the United States.

How long does it normally take to get an Apostille with my translation?

Average turnaround time is between 2-3 weeks (it’s dependent on the Secretary of State’s office). The certificate of accuracy from the linguist is mailed to the Secretary of State, within 24 hours of your translation.
